December 23, 2014: Romain Fleury received the Best Student Paper Award in Engineering Acoustics for our paper on non-reciprocal acoustic devices based on spatio-temporal modulation, and the Young Presenter Award in Noise for our talk on parity-time symmetric acoustic metasurfaces at the 168th Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in Indianapolis, IN.

November 20, 2014: Our paper on fast modulation in mid-IR metasurfaces, in collaboration with M. Belkin’s group, has just appeared in Advanced Optical Materials, and featured on the inside front cover.

April 28, 2014: The H2 Team (B. De Garza, E. Ge, J. Lu, M. Perez, S. Soliman) won the first prize in the UT ECE Senior Design Competition with our project on ‘Active Camouflaging for Broadband Scattering Reduction’.
April 6, 2014: Nicholas Estep won the Best Student Paper Award at the 2014 Texas Symposium on Wireless & Microwave Circuits & Systems with our work on ‘Angular-Momentum-Biasing for Non-Reciprocal Radio-Frequency Components’.
April 5, 2014: Jason Soric has been selected as a finalist of the upcoming IEEE AP-S Student Paper competition in Memnphis, TN. Nicholas Estep and Francesco Monticone have been selected for an Honorable Mention award. Congratulations to all!
March 19, 2014: Our paper on isolation and non-reciprocity in integrated nanophotonic devices is published in ACS Photonics, Vol. 1, No. 3, pp. 198-2014. The paper is featured on the cover of ACS Photonics.

February 16, 2014: Andrea Alù has received the 2014 Outstanding Young Engineer Award from the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society “for outstanding early career contributions to the microwave profession”. He will receive the award at the International Microwave Symposium, Tampa, FL, June 1-6, 2014.
January 31, 2014: Our paper on the first-of-its-kind circulator for sound, based on which we can break time-reversal symmetry in acoustics, has been published in Science. and featured on the cover page.
